Caliber is a medium size GSP at 17 months old as in the above photo he is 24 inches at the withers (top of shoulder blades) and weighs 60 lbs. Caliber has an awesome point, excellent nose, naturally honors, tracks well, has style and loves the water. He is a pleasure to have and watch in the field. He is a nonstop hunter and hunts from the time he is let out of the truck until you put him back in the truck, no matter of how long you hunt or what the weather conditions are, he has no greater joy than to keep on hunting. He covers a field with great speed and style. He naturally ranges in the 20-70 yard range and he knows his job well for such a young dog and realizes he is hunting for you, always glancing back to make sure you are still with him, making him an ideal hunter for the average foot hunter like myself in the small fields and tight woods of New Jersey. He is highly intelligent and adapts to new things in remarkable time. Caliber easily earned his Junior Hunter title at 12 months old running 4 consecutive legs and passing all 4. His 3rd leg he scored perfect 10 scores in all areas an almost unheard of feat. He is currently training for seniors and for next hunting season. He is out of Westwind Kennels In Kansas who is well known for line breeding off of DC Hillhaven's Hustler bloodlines and for breeding quality hunting dogs for the foothunter. We are hopeful he will turn out well enough to be our future Stud Dog.
